Climate Justice

Building a regenerative future by uniting health equity and climate justice movements

Get In Touch

Climate change is the greatest public health threat facing humanity, and a multiplier of existing health inequities.‍

We confront the root causes of both climate and health injustice, which are the unequal distribution of power, especially corporate power, and systems of oppression, especially structural racism and extractive capitalism.

We envision a world where the public health sector is working alongside climate justice organizing groups to transform harmful systems, hold Big Oil accountable for the damage they’ve done to our health, communities, and the climate, and collectively build a climate resilient, regenerative, and just future with health equity at the center.

We support climate justice movements by:

  • Organizing and mobilizing public health organizations and individuals to support climate justice campaigns
  • Assisting government agencies to adopt policies and systems changes that improve climate and health inequities
  • Shifting the narrative about climate and health equity, by challenging dominant narratives that stop effective climate action and replacing them with transformative narratives about how just climate policies can create safe, dignified, and healthy jobs, housing, and communities
  • Providing policy-driven research on health equity impacts to support campaigns and movements
